Well hello there…

No, not a revolution…but a pet project (pun intended)

Right, we’ve flung the virtual doors open, put the kettle on, and officially launched The Savvy Sighthound – a cosy corner of the internet for anyone owned by a greyhound, whippet, lurcher (or some deliciously mysterious combination of all three).

What is this place?

It’s part blog, part brain-dump, part sighthound love letter. We’re here to share what we’ve learned (and are still learning) about life with these long-nosed legends – from feeding fussiness to sofa-hogging etiquette, and everything in between.

We’re especially passionate about supporting adoption and exposing the not-so-pretty side of racing and coursing. That means we’ll be myth-busting, signposting, and telling it like it is – with kindness, humour, and a healthy dose of cynicism where required.

Who’s behind it?

No big budgets. No big egos. Just a small team of hound-wrangling volunteers doing this out of pure passion. It’s a pet project (pun very much intended), not a polished brand or for-profit operation. Think scribbled notes on a napkin rather than glossy magazine spread.

A quick word of warning...

We’re not vets. We’re not from the industry. And we’re definitely not claiming to know everything. What you’ll find here is based on experience, not qualifications. So always check things for yourself and speak to your own vet before making decisions about your dog’s care.

A work in progress...

This site will grow and change as we go – expect the odd typo, missing bit, or link that leads somewhere odd. It’s a first draft, not a final edition. But hey, so is life with a rescue dog, right?

Thanks for sniffing us out – we’re so glad you’re here.
