About this “pet project”
We’re a small group of long-dog lovers. Some of us have one hound. Some of us have fostered dozens. We’re not experts, we’re enthusiasts, and this is our corner of the internet where experience matters more than credentials.
Hello there…
This website is a pet project (pun very much intended), borne out of pure passion for our lovely long dogs rather than profit. We’re a small but devoted gang of sighthound enthusiasts – the kind who’ll show you 47 photos of our dog sleeping in exactly the same position, and still expect you to say “Aww!”
We’ve adopted them, fostered them, occasionally been outwitted by them, and we wouldn’t change a thing. This space is our way of sharing the highs, the quirks, and the snuggly joys of life with a sighthound.
No sponsors. No sales pitch. Just love, lanky limbs, and a lot of second-hand blankets.
Why we started this project
This whole thing started, quite honestly, because of a lanky dog and a lack of sleep. Like so many others, we fell head over paws for a greyhound, then spent our nights frantically Googling why they wouldn’t go up the stairs, why they were terrified of the fridge, and whether it was normal for them to sleep 23 hours a day.
What we didn’t find was a friendly, UK-and-Ireland-focused space that brought together the quirks, care tips and emotional side of welcoming a sighthound into your life. So we’re creating one (it’s a work in progress and labour of love).
A Caveat…
This site is built on collective experience, not veterinary qualifications. It’s not gospel, and it’s definitely not advice. Always speak to your vet if you’re unsure about something.
We do our best to keep things accurate, kind, and up-to-date, but if you spot something that’s off or missing, feel free to let us know. We like learning too.
